Hammond XK1, Nord Electro - Amplifier question?

I am thinking about buying eiter a Hammond XK1 organ or a Nord Electro and I have read that they have internal amplifiers. Does this mean that all I will have to do is plug the power chord and I will be able to play or will I need an external amplifier?

Thanks.

Neither of these keyboards have internal amplification. They must be run through some kind of amp or PA system.
I own the Nord Electo2 61 and in my opinion it's the best of the bunch in value and sound. I am a working musician and have used it regularly (at least once a week) for about a year with no problems. In my opinion the Hammond (really Suzuki, they bought the name) is way too expensive for a clone B3. Roland VK series and Korg CX series are available if you "need" this style - they have actual drawbars you pull in & out like the original. The Nord has buttons that work as the drawbars and it doesn't look like a classic keyboard. The Nord also has a second sound section with presets for piano, clavinet & rhodes, and a few others. The Nord can also be MIDIed to a second keyboard to act as the upper manual on a real B3. I tried all the brands out side by side when I was buying mine & the Nord won hands down. If you choose the Nord I don't think you'll be disappointed. BTW... I am not trying to push Nord keyboards, just sharing my research.
