linking Korg Microkorg to an amp?
I want to get a korg microkorg, but i need to know something - can u connect it directly to an amplifier?
I would be looking to use it as a primary keyboard with synth on it for live use and practise with my band.
But iv looked at some videos and all the people seem to connect it through two cables wich i presumed went to their computers?
because if it has to hooked up to another piece of kit i dont want 1
thanks
Yo!
I have a microkorg and you can plug it straight into a guitar amp using a 1/4 inch jack and leads - unless you have two amps the sound will be only in mono - as one amp is basically one speaker head - Also as most guitar amps are set up for guitars the sound may not be too good, you may want to try a PA set up - OR you could use a 1/4 inch male to female converter plug thingy for running desktop montors (like PC speakers) works well if you just want to try out new sounds and hear what they sound like without annoying your nieghbours.
For defo get the microKORG as it is the craziest little thing in the whole world and it can make so many different sounds!
So the additional stuff you need are:
1/4 inch jack mono phone leads
A nice big fat amp
and little ickle fingers - cos the keys are mini!
And prehaps a male to female/ 1/4 inch jack to headphone jack converter as the microkorg only has 'midi' and 1/4 inch jack sockets - like a electric guitar
hope that helped!
