02 jetta radio problems?
my problem started off with the lights for the vent temp, speed, and direction knobs not working, (they still dont work) now when i turn the volume all the way down on my radio i have to turn it off and on several times to get sound back also the bass knob turns the volume up or down not the bass, and the fader and balance knobs dont work at all. how can i fix this and how much will it cost?
I think you have a number of separate problems here that either occurred co-incidentally together, or were a result of trying to fix up the first problem.
The Radio problem is definitely not linked to the first problem. You will not get a decent answer on this one on the internet - problems with radios are difficult to diagnose without the correct instruments.
The first problem sounds either like a blown fuse or fuses, alternatively a broken wire somewhere. Start with checking all your fuses. Pull them out one by one to make sure they are making good contact and are not blown.
