What else am i missing in my recording studio?
So ive invested money on a home recording studio. I play synth/keyboard for my band but i also wanted to produce my own music such as a side project for me. So far i have a macbookPro and i currently have garageband but i would love if anyone recommended me some easy software, im a beginner. I also have Roland Juno G-I which comes with a built in recorder and mixer board, so i really don't know if i should buy another mixer or record music off my keyboard and use the SD card to transfer the music to the computer. I also already have an amp but its a bass amp it still works fine for me though. So basically all i have is a bass amp, bass guitar, guitar, Roland juno Gi synthsizer a macbookPRO, a Shure beta 58 dynamic microphone and thats pretty much it besides all of the instrument cables,xlr cables and usb cable. So feel free to add anything else i need ive been trying to do techno or deathcore/death metal.
Well, there's Logic. Logic has a few different products: Logic Express, Logic Studio, and Logic Pro, Express being the cheapest (as in price) at about 200-250 which a great price for what your getting. If you're thinking about getting serious with your hobby, then I would suggest getting LogicPro. Overall Logic Products are the third most popular in the Music Industry today. 1.) ProTools 2.) Ableton 3.) Logic. However, there is a cheap (as in price) consumer product for ProTools but the product itself is NOT AT ALL cheap in any aspect. You can get this for about 300; product name is ProTools M-Powered. Hope I help out a bit.
Also, if you were to get Logic, you would need to buy an audio interface or use a PC card. If i were to get Logic, i would just stick with the PC card. If Protools, then you definitely need to get an audio interface. The nice thing about M-Powered is that an audio interface (called M-Audio) is included with the purchase of ProTools M-Powered.
Bottom line, Logic if you're getting started, ProTools if you've worked with recording before (worked as in thoroughly understand what you're doing).
