Yamaha Motif Rack
Does any one know... How many amps does a US 110V DC "yamaha motif rack es" run off?
I live in Australia and have just bought a Yamaha motif rack es. Which I orded from the USA. I will need a 110V to 240V converter to use it in Australia so I dont FRY it, but how many amps does it need?
Actually you need a converter to change the 240 VAC Australian power to 120 VAC for the US equipment. You can buy this type of voltage converter at most travel stores or in the luggage department of most department stores.
You just add up the current for each device in the rack. It should say something like 120 VAC, 4 amps which is about 480 watts.. Or it could say something like 500 volt-amps. The volt-amps is roughly equivalent to watts. Add them all up and buy a voltage converter that is rated somewhat higher than the total watts or volt-amps. If the equipment totals 1000 watts buy a converter that is rated at about 1200 watts.
